more honesty, since we're on a roll with that theme. the motivation to rally and write a post comes from my hardest 5 days as a parent. can't speak for matt but i'll tell you, saturday and sunday a one way ticket to mexico crossed my mind more than once, okay more than 10 times. and it didn't just cross my mind, it lingered, usually until a shrill cry from lope ended it.
dear friends and family, penelope has learned the art of tantrums. she has not only learned but mastered tantrums. "i am mighty, hear me ROAR!" and roar is what she does. mostly to me, she cuts matt some slack. my friend and fellow mama reminded me today, "it's something about the mom, they take out all of their evil on us." SO very true. and ironic, because WE, mama's, birth them (18 hours + of labor, thank you), graciously provide all access passes to our boobies and sleep, and love them so fiercely it hurts.
i truly do love her so fiercely it hurts. i needed to write this post for the theraputic effect and to remind myself, these tantrums will pass. these teeth will all come in. and the long days of parenting will go by too quickly. and one day i will probably miss and yearn for these crazy days.
now that i've poured my heart out about the difficulties of toddler rearing, here are some adorable pictures of our finer moments.
birthday dinner at phil's ice house!
playing sticks in the park. OOTD was a white men's hanes shirt and running shorts.
we're raising a wilderness girl. and nudist.
