ace hotel: downtown LA

2 weeks ago we made a quick trip to LA to visit matt's fam. which was supposed to be an easter trip but maybe i booked the tickets the wrong weekend. haha! it worked out for the best though & ticks were MUCH, much cheaper. 2 round trip, non-stop tickets to LAX were only $400. obviously our flights took off at ungodly hours but totally worth the savings.

sunday night matt & i left lope with grandparents & headed to the ace hotel in downtown LA for a little vacay staycay. we desperately needed some time together to reconnect, be weirdos & relax without a toddler crawling on our head.

the hotel occupies an old high rise in downtown, built in 1927 known as the United Artists building. after checking in we headed to our home for the night. our room was on the 10th floor & had a gorgeous view of the skyline and the historic buildings surrounding us.

photo booth fun. we can't pass these things up

my dude in the pool! the pool is basically giant hot tub. no room for laps but plenty of lounge space.

loved the view of the top of the hotel from the pool.

waiting on the elevator. which took a long time. but thankfully it was a pretty wait.

best way to start the day. latte in bed. via the Coffee Counter downstiars

these were all taken with an iphone
